Does
it go on the inside or outside of the window?
3M film installation almost exclusively goes on the inside
of the window, with very few exceptions.
What
kind of glass can the film go on?
Film installations can be performed on almost all flat glass
surfaces and are only limited to color and thickness of
existing glass.
Is
it easy to scratch? No! All 3M
Window Films come with a patented, abrasion resistant liner,
which makes the surface of our films almost as hard as glass
itself. 3M leads the world in developing techniques that
protect surfaces from abrasion.
Can
3M Window Film really reduce sun damage in my home? 3M
Window Films screen out up to 99.9% of damaging ultraviolet
rays to help protect fabrics, furniture, rugs and artwork
against costly fading.
Does
it meet Board approval for plantations? Yes.
3M Window Films meets or exceeds all code requirements for
visual standards at this time.
Does
the 3M Impact Protection Adhesive system come in different
colors? Currently, black, white and gray are used. 3M
has found that these three colors blend best with existing
window frames.
Does
the film really work? Yes!
3M Window Films are the most tested films in
the industry for heat, glare and UV protection and meets
or exceeds independent laboratory standards for performance
and visual clarity.
Can
I install the film myself? No, all installations must
be performed by 3M factory trained and certified installers
(we do not subcontract!) for the warranty to be valid.
Are
there any odor or air quality concerns?
No, the films are totally odorless and air quality is confirmed
by E.P.A. testing protocol.
Is
it approved for historic buildings?
Yes, 3M films meets or exceeds most historic society requirements.
Will
the film installation cause my window seals to fail?
No, that is determined by the quality of the workmanship
and materials that go into building the insulated glass
unit itself.
